Sarah Claus

Well I'm wrecked! But it's a happy tired! I got to do a very good impression of Santa Claus at the post office today. All my orders are posted, freeing me up for the last weekend of orders from the states and Canada!

Also very excited that I've passed the 100 sales mark on etsy :)

I've also started my own Christmas shopping on etsy, and got a few packages winging their way towards me, I love the idea that my money is going towards helping other self employed people do what they love :) and it's some fab stuff too!

Now though I'm off to the kiln to do my first bit of enameling in quite a while! Really looking forward to it! Have a great weekend guys!

Diabolical plans

I hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween!

Mine was amazing back in Ireland at the Hill of Ward for a firelight procession and bonfire and lots of chanting and singing! Really really good fun!

And now Christmas is nearly here! And a bunch of my diabolical plans have finally fitted into place! mwhaaaaaa!

First up is the Washington gallery in Penarth which will be stocking lots of my pieces over the Christmas, I'm very happy and excited about this! It's a fab gallery with a lovely little cafe attached, and for anyone that might be around tonight  from 6-8 there is a late night shopping evening and I heard mention of mince pies and mulled wine, yum!

Secondly I have ventured into a new and fancy section of the internet known as Not On The High Street, and lots of my pieces are up there to be seen and purchased.

Lots of new photos had to be taken so I've said goodbye to my ammonite fossil and hello to a beautiful green scarf, I'd love opinions on the photos, and if they're well received shall be undertaking to update all my etsy pics, no mean feat!

Thirdly I now have uber pretty new boxes which I will be dispatching in, and as always will gift wrap or include messages if you want something sent straight to someone special.

Finally as Etsy is the site that got me off the ground and has the most varied collection of my work, I have recently done a big over hall of listings and some pics and will be offering freepost from now until December 10th, just use the code FREEPOST2012 at the checkout

Sunday 9 September 2012

The dinosaur has my keys!

I'm sitting chilling on a Sunday night with the bunnies running around and tearing cardboard boxes apart, it's quite nice and restful and needed!

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend and start to September; although for what it's worth I'm disgusted it's September already and that it's getting dark so soon in the evenings! I like the nice long days of summer!

Well I suppose I'll just have to look forward to Halloween so!

I've had a very productive few weeks lots of bench time working on some new ideas and lots more bunny earrings winging their ways around the world, lots of other orders too but wow those bunnies are popular :)

Which I'm ok with because they're quite good fun to make, and my neighbours are very happy for the lack of hammering involved!

Keyrings have also been doing well so I have expanded the range a little bit with more coming over the week, check it out here.

I've got my metaphorical fingers in a few other pies that I'll hopefully be able to tell you about soon, but it's all hush hush for the moment! So for now I'll just leave you with some pictures of new items up on my shop, or soon to be.

Where did August go?

Well the time just seems to have run away on me! The last month has been mental! ...in the good way!

These earrings are proving very popular!
Lots of little bunnies have been finding their way around the world, to some very far flung places indeed, as well as some penguins and elephants. So keeping up with orders and getting ready for the coming months has been keeping me pretty busy, tired and smiling. I love thinking about someone in Australia, Sweden or Alaska wearing something I made. It’s pretty amazing!

My real life bunnies have as always been keeping me on my toes, especially this weekend as we were bunny sitting for a little baby boy bunny that we thought hadn’t hit puberty yet. Within minutes we reconsidered that thinking, and Orla was not impressed!

I got to go back to Ireland for a few days earlier this month and had a lovely day in Glendalough in the rain (of course) so instead of bunnies here are my parents dogs, Freya and Kali, who are obsessed with my Dad!

Hope you’re all well, and keep reading for news of new developments and changes coming soon.

I'm sorry about the rain I didn't mean it!

Silver Wedding rings
I'm sorry everyone! I think I jinxed the weather, it's been a miserable extremely wet day after I was foolish enough to post on facebook yesterday

"It's July now, but in fairness June was pretty damn rainy! Fingers crossed for a sunny July!" With a link to this treasury Rain in June by TJ on etsy.

I should really know better by now!

So despite the fact that I have a load of new stuff I wanted to photo today and share, I've spent most of the day on the computer trying to avoid doing my inventory which I started this morning!

And what better way to avoid it then showing you some sneak peaks of new designs that will be popping up on my etsy shop over the next few days; fortunatly I got a few mins of sunlight last week ;)

A Bangle with balls!

The first in a series of silhouette bracelets

And a new style of bunny ring.
And any cat lovers out there you might want to check out this puuuurfet Treasury Purrfect day by Cat Thomas on etsy.

And the more bohemian of you should check out Bohemian Summer by Michelle Thompson also on etsy.

All that glitters is gold

Well last week was a very big week for me! It was my first time working in Gold and oh it was fun! Even better it was a commission to make a pair of wedding rings for some good friends of mine. And I have to say it feels pretty fantastic that I made the rings that they’ll exchange.

So here are some pictures of the process and the finished rings. They were made out of 14k yellow gold and if you’re after one or a pair they’re up and available on my etsy page

This is what I started with, a strip of 14k gold
It was then bent into a roughly ring shape and the piece sawed off

Small pieces of solder were placed along the joint and fire time!
Afterwards it doesn't look quite so pretty.

Several hours later it's cleaned up, and the texture applied so it's shiny shiny gold :)

And here's the matching his and her's set.
Of course they're bunny approved!

Love love love these earrings!

I’m sooo sooooo proud of theses earrings! You have no idea! I loooove them! These are hallmarked and ready to go. So tomorrow I have to make up another pair just for me to wear!

Also got my glass cutter out recently, it's been far too long! And more glass items shall be unveiled soon, here’s a few to whet your appetite.

And I have my howling wolf one of my favourite designs back in stock and hallmarked! Sending off more hallmarking Tuesday next week so if you want anything done and hallmarked just let me know!
Hope you’re all well
Sarah and the bunnies

PS: Here’s some pics from the photo shoot yesterday and my nosey models. Apparently sticking your nose in my camera lens is the new best game ever! They had me rolling around laughing at them :)

Lots in the pipeline

I've been very quiet on here lately, not because I'm lazy, but because i have a lot of projects in the pipeline, all very exciting!

One has been getting ready for the launch last week, of this lovely new website Magpie Colours which are stocking quite a bit of my Jewellery. This is a new start up from two very lovely women based in England and is well worth a check out, give them a bit of time and they'll be mega!

I'm also working on some new designs and ideas and thankfully I haven't burnt the apt down yet....some close calls! More to follow as it develops, all a little hush hush now :)
Herculeus

And of course I have been adding to my collection of constellation jewellery with some more random constellations, and as always if you have a favorite you'd like to see let me know!

I'm back, with a new shop and all :)

Missed my girls while I was away and they
were angry at me for leaving! But I think we're
 back on good terms now!

Oh I had a lovely week off! I went back to Ireland for a family wedding (which was amazing) and got to meet up with lots of people both family and friends. I did miss my bench though! But hopped right back on when I got home on Tuesday, and it felt great! I have some lovely designs I’m waiting for a sunny day to photograph and show you guys, but given the crazy weather at the moment that could be a while!

I’ve also set up a brand new shop over on Art Fire, please check it out and let me know what you think and if you have heard good or bad things about the site, please pass them on!

And I just got a delivery so it’s too the bench I go!

Stamptastic!

Well I've been bold with my blog, no real surprise there, but I have been busy fine tuning my stamping skills and having a serious amount of fun doing it! Expect way more stamped items to follow! And as such I am looking for quotes and phrases that you would like to see and wear :) embrace the inner nerd/child/sap and let me know any ideas you have.

And of course in Blue Peter fashion, here's some I made earlier; all up and available on my folksy and etsy shops

I'm getting very excited for the new Avengers Assemble movie!

Busy busy Bunny

Well I've been a busy busy bunny the last few weeks, and there are lots of new listings up on both my etsy and folksy shop for you to check out and lots more coming. I'm sending off a bunch of hallmarking tomorrow just getting that together now, and it's my biggest batch yet! Woohoo!

And I have a crazy bunny jumping around on the carpet behind my chair as I type...very distracting! Life is good! I hope everyone else is doing as well!

So without further ado here are some of the new designs that have just arrived to my shop and or will be arriving soon :)

Inspired by a Guinea Pig named Nibbles that got me thinking about my Guinea Pigs when I was a kid, I had a girl and boy Delilah and Samson and they had two litters, Hugie Douie and Louie and then a second bunch eney meany miney and mo, unfortunately mo died :(

This week I learnt frogs are associated with fertility and life changes.

The Egyptians believed that seahorses carried the souls of the dead to the underworld
keeping them safe and protected along the way! Big ask for such small little creatures!

See Cats and Dogs can get along!

My models were not working today, they were on strike demanding more banana and broccoli.
